SUMMARY:INTERCONNECTIONS
DESCRIPTION:BoSoma Dance Company is excited to present “INTERCONNECTIONS\,” an evening of contemporary dance directed by Katherine Hooper. BDC looks forward to showcasing a vibrant collection of performances featuring new pieces by acclaimed choreographer Eddy Ocampo\, as well as talented company dancers Jess-Rose White and Dana Mazurowski. The program will include fan-favorite works\, such as Hooper’s “Regret” (2015)\, “Butterfly Effect” (2015)\, and “On the Rails” (2022)\, all emphasizing how a single moment or action can influence the future. BDC will also bring back Ocampo’s powerful piece\, “WIPE\,” which was originally created for the company in 2006 and restaged for this season. “WIPE” highlights the ongoing struggles women face in their quest for perfection and strength in society. Additionally\, BDC is excited to premiere two original works by company members Dana Mazurowski and Jess-Rose White. Mazurowski’s piece\, inspired by her volunteer work with incarcerated individuals\, is titled “SEW on and SEW forth” and explores how we spend our time together. White’s poignant piece\, “Eight Years Later\,” translates her eight-year love story into a moving combination of dance and music. To complete the evening\, the stunning BoSoma Youth Company will perform two pieces choreographed by Katherine Hooper and Alyssa Sullivan from the BoSoma School of Dance. We invite you to join us for a night filled with remarkable movement and artistic expression!

DESCRIPTION:Ammaya Dance & Drum is an ensemble of dancers and drummers who practice traditional West African and Afro-Caribbean dance and drumming. Ammaya presents the rich traditions of African rooted music and dance\, and invites the audience to participate actively along in rhythms\, movement and song! The troupe includes master West African drummers\, and a diverse group of professional American artists with a variety of dance and music backgrounds. The ensemble performs at concerts\, school assemblies\, festivals\, parties\, weddings and more\, uplifting the hearts of their audiences\, playing for the joy and healing inherent in African traditions. Their performances are full of spirit and fun for all ages and abilities.

The revival features a world where passion and darkness collide. From the haunting embrace of the vampire brides to the fierce battle between light and darkness\, every movement on stage reflects the intensity and passion of Stoker’s narrative. \nJoin us as we traverse the haunting corridors of Dracula’s castle\, mirroring Jonathan Harker’s descent into the unknown. The ballet unfolds with the seductive allure of the vampire brides\, capturing the essence of Stoker’s gothic masterpiece and the thrill of Halloween! \nPlease note: We love supporting the renovation of this historic theater we call home.
