She is also the creator and host of her personal podcast\, I Brought You Into This World\, and the host of BevCam’s youth podcast\, BevCam Kids! (Please reach out if your kids are interested!)\nAmanda is a storyteller at heart\, with a BA in Dramatic Arts and a background working with kids. In 2020\, while looking to make a career shift\, she completed a certificate program in Broadcast Media and soon found herself working as an Education Coordinator at Urban Media Arts. She stayed in that role for three years\, enjoying the mix of community engagement and creative work.\nShortly after moving to Beverly\, Amanda joined BevCam and has loved getting to be part of the arts and culture community here. When she’s not working\, her favorite activities are binge-watching her favorite shows\, listening to podcasts\, exploring local parks and trails\, and hanging out with her husband and their two girls. Her go-to podcast at the moment is Good Hang with Amy Poehler.

Use this overview for new and experienced audiences to help you start creating your own! \nNote: This stop-motion workshop is geared toward adults\, as it involves discussion and focus throughout the session. (16+ recommended)\nHowever\, we will be offering a hands-on character design workshop just for kids in May. \nSpecial Guest Teaching Artist!\nThis workshop features local animator and Montserrat College of Art student Lyss Lentini\, whose work focuses on stop-motion animation and post-production. \nDetails\nJoin us at BevCam on April 1\, 2026\, at 6:30 PM for a fun introduction to the art of stop-motion animation! \nCreating stop-motion videos is more accessible than ever. You can make your own animations using a free app right on your phone\, or\, by becoming a BevCam member\, you can use our DSLR camera and professional stop-motion software\, DragonFrame\, to bring your creations to life. \nThis session will explore different types of stop-motion animation\, take you behind the scenes to see how the process works\, and introduce the tools and resources you need to get started. You’ll learn the fundamentals of bringing objects to life frame by frame\, and gain insight into how animators create movement\, character\, and story from still images. \nThis workshop will be presented in a demonstration-style format rather than a full hands-on session. However\, attendees will learn how to continue their animation journey at BevCam\, with upcoming opportunities for hands-on practice and deeper skill-building. \nEach participant will also receive a piece of moldable plasticine (non-drying clay) to take home so you can start experimenting with simple stop-motion animation on your own. \nBonus for Members!\nBevCam members who complete this workshop gain access to our stop-motion animation software and dedicated camera equipment. (only $49/year)\n$20 for non-members. \nSee you there! \nLearn more about BevCam Membership. \nAbout Amanda -BevCam Education Manager\nAmanda Hurley is the Education Manager at BevCam and the creator and host of her personal podcast\, I Brought You Into This World\, as well as host of BevCam’s podcast for youth\, BevCam Kids (please reach out if your kids are interested!). Amanda is a storyteller at heart\, with a BA in Dramatic Arts and a background working with kids. In 2020\, looking to make a career shift\, she completed a certificate program in Broadcast Media and soon found herself working at Urban Media Arts as an Education Coordinator. Amanda stayed in this role for three years and enjoyed working with the community while doing creative work. Shortly after moving to Beverly\, she landed this role at BevCam. Amanda loves the arts and culture here in Beverly and is excited to take on this new role! When not working\, her favorite activities are binge-watching her favorite shows\, writing and performing\, and snuggling her twins\, Annabelle and Rosalie.
