SUMMARY:Shoebert’s Unfinished Journey
DESCRIPTION:Inspired by the true story of Beverly’s beloved gray seal\, Shoebert’s Unfinished Journey is a joyful new family operetta by Arpeggione Ensemble. \nWhen Shoebert the seal found his way to a former mill pond\, he unexpectedly galumphed into the world of another Schubert—composer Franz Schubert\, whose songs celebrate mills\, water\, and fish. \nIn Arpeggione’s heartwarming production\, Shoebert is a seal who loves music. As he searches for his own song\, he encounters remarkable figures from the history of the North Shore’s shoe and textile industries\, from inventor Jan Matzeliger to artist Virginia Lee Burton. Along the way\, he discovers not only a song\, but a place to belong. \nFeaturing two extraordinary singer-storytellers\, live chamber music on period instruments\, and original watercolor illustrations\, this charming production celebrates Beverly’s past and present with humor\, heart\, and imagination. Created as part of Beverly 400+\, Shoebert’s Unfinished Journey is a delightful experience for children\, families\, and anyone who loves a good story. \nThe operetta has been developed in collaboration with the Beverly community\, including the Beverly Council on Aging\, Northshore Education Consortium\, Ayers Elementary School\, and children who helped create artwork at Arts Fest Beverly. \nThis program is funded in part by a grant from the Beverly Cultural Council\, a local agency which is supported by Mass Cultural Council\, a state agency; by a grant from the Mass Cultural Council; and by the generosity of many individual donors. \nStory and illustrations by Andrea LeBlanc \nMusic arranged by Thomas Carroll \nAurora Martin\, soprano and narrator \nDaniel Fridley\, bass and narrator \nAndrea LeBlanc\, flute \nThomas Carroll\, clarinet \nEmily Hale\, violin \nAnna Seda\, cello \nApril Sun\, piano

SUMMARY:Ghosts of Jupiter featuring Nate Wilson of Moe.
DESCRIPTION:Ghosts of Jupiter\, a New England-based band\, has a rich history built on a foundation of progressive rock and psychedelic soundscapes. \nLed by current moe. keyboardist and founding member of Percy Hill\, Nate Wilson\, Ghosts of Jupiter formed in 2011. Their self-titled debut was met with regional success and critical acclaim\, leading to live performances with rock giants like Blue Öyster Cult\, Robert Randolph\, and moe. \nIn 2016\, their second independent album\, The Great Bright Horses\, solidified their sound and earned them a spot as the year’s #2 progressive rock release by the blog “prog is alive and well.” The album drew comparisons to the experimental prog of King Crimson\, the psychedelic exploration of Pink Floyd\, and the modern sounds of Tame Impala and Dungen. \nBuilding on this success\, Ghosts of Jupiter released their 2022 album\, Keepers of the Newborn Green\, on the legendary Berlin label Nasoni Records. The album received further critical acclaim\, including a five-star review and feature in the UK’s “Shindig” music magazine. The band supported the release with performances at the Adirondack Independence Festival and opening slots for psych-rock legends Earthless. \nThe current lineup features Nate Wilson on lead vocals\, keyboards\, and flute\, Thomas Lada on bass and keyboards\, Barrett Goeman on drums\, and Pierre Aleksi on guitar. With an unwavering commitment to touring and recording\, Ghosts of Jupiter continues to push the boundaries of modern psychedelic rock. \nLearn more: ghostsofjupiter.com \nHave a listen!

SUMMARY:Club D’Elf
DESCRIPTION:What begins as a groove in Club d’Elf’s world often becomes a doorway into someplace older\, stranger and unshackled by time. \nThe band has spent twenty seven years helping audiences lose track of time with its shape-shifting fusion of Moroccan trance\, dub\, electronica\, jazz and improvised funk. Built around bassist and composer Mike Rivard\, each performance features a rotating cast drawn from Boston\, New York and beyond\, creating a constantly shifting ecosystem where trance forms the central core of the band’s aesthetic. Under longtime member and Casablanca native Brahim Fribgane\, the group absorbed Moroccan trance music deeply into its DNA. Fribgane passed away in early 2024\, but his spirit remains embedded in the band’s sound\, especially through Rivard’s commanding sintir work\, learned under the guidance of Fribgane and Gnawa masters Hassan Hakmoun and Mahmoud Guinia. \nTheir new album\, Loon and Thrush (due out 4/10/26)\, recorded entirely live in the studio with minimal overdubs\, channels that lineage into a raw\, improvisatory flight. While largely built on Rivard originals\, the album continues the band’s tradition of honoring key influences\, offering Moroccan-infused takes on Grateful Dead classics “Bird Song” and “New Speedway Boogie.” The overarching theme of the record is “flight” itself — the avian imagery of the title track\, the Dead’s celestial wanderings\, and the enduring presence of Fribgane\, whose spirit continues to guide the music from beyond.

SUMMARY:David Wilcox
DESCRIPTION:There are songwriters who chronicle life; David Wilcox metabolizes it. \nHe has long been a quiet force in American folk music – a musician’s musician\, a writer’s writer\, and a seeker whose gift lies in making the personal feel universal. \nWith The Way I Tell the Story (2025)\, Wilcox proves that resilience isn’t just a survival skill—it’s an art form. The music he’s creating now comes from a place that can’t be faked. In recent years\, Wilcox’s life has been shaped by his wife’s Parkinson’s diagnosis\, redefining his sense of time\, love\, and presence. “Times get tough\, and music gets good\,” he says\, and means it. \nIn 1989\, Wilcox‘s How Did You Find Me Here became an unexpected hit\, selling over 100\,000 copies largely by word of mouth—an unheard-of feat for a debut folk record. Critics took note of his deft guitar work and emotional clarity\, but it was the unassuming wisdom threaded through his lyrics that truly set him apart. Rolling Stone praised his “soulful insight\,” while The New York Times called his music “a kind of open-hearted therapy.” \nA string of acclaimed albums refined his reputation as a songwriter who knows how to say hard things in soft\, lasting ways. Over the years he’s shared stages and collaborations with artists like Shawn Colvin\, Patty Larkin\, and John Gorka. Wilcox’s influence runs deep\, especially among younger artists trying to build something real\, and his music still resonates. His songs remain a rare kind of company. Not flashy. Just deeply\, generously alive.
