DESCRIPTION:As they celebrate their 50th anniversary\, the band reaches a rare milestone that only a few bands ever achieve. \nJefferson Starship is one of the most successful arena rock bands of the ’70s and ’80s\, earning 3 platinum and 8 gold records\, as well as numerous Top 40 Billboard singles. \nFounded by Paul Kantner in the ’70s\, Jefferson Starship was conceived as a collective of musical adventurers contributing to his epic concept albums and eventual catalog of rock classics. When the current lineup came together in 2012\, with many members hav ing joined years earlier\, Kantner couldn’t have predicted the band would become the road – conquering force they are today. \nThe five members of Jefferson Starship often describe themselves as both a “family” and a “gang\,” and this sense of camaraderie shines through in their performances. Over the years\, they’ve played in all 50 U.S. states\, five continents\, and countless count ries. A recent tour of New Zealand was noted as one of the band’s favorites\, and their live shows continue to offer a non – stop mix of rock hits. \nThe band’s current lineup includes original member David Freiberg\, drummer Donny Baldwin (who first joined in 1982)\, keyboardist Chris Smith (who joined in 1998)\, guitarist Jude Gold (who joined in 2012)\, and singer/guitarist Cathy Richardson (who joined i n 2008 after Kantner saw her perform with Big Brother and the Holding Company). \nAs Jefferson Starship celebrates its 50th anniversary\, the band reflects on the legacy of Paul Kantner\, who passed away in 2016. DESCRIPTION:TWO SHOWS: 11AM & 3PM \nGive your child an unforgettable experience that will inspire a lifelong love of music and create lasting memories with the whole F-A-M-I-L-Y! \nLaurie Berkner has been a professional musician since 1992\, but her success as a children’s recording artist was a surprise to her. “It was so unexpected\,” says Laurie. “I’d been performing in rock bands and struggling to write original music. Writing music for kids has not been a struggle at all. The more I started working on material for children\, the more I realized that it opened up creativity in me that I never knew I had.” \nThese days critics widely acknowledge Laurie’s major contribution toward launching what is now dubbed the progressive “kindie rock” movement – i.e. less saccharine\, more rocking music that is not dumbed down for children. But it wasn’t simply an enormous amount of talent that helped create an entire genre and skyrocketed Laurie to her current position as “the queen of kids’ music” (People magazine). \nIt was an ability to gain parents’ enthusiasm for the songs as well. According to Laurie\, “When I’m writing a song\, I’m thinking about whether the kids will like it and whether I’m going to connect to them through it. I’m also thinking about whether I want to sing it over and over again\, so I guess that’s the part that connects with adults. ‘Old MacDonald Had a Farm’ is a great song for kids\, but I couldn’t sing it 100 times!”

SUMMARY:Victor Wooten and the Wooten Brothers
DESCRIPTION:For over four decades the Wooten Brothers have been recognized as some of the most innovative musicians in existence and are collectively known as one of the most talented and dynamic band of brothers the world has ever known. \nVictor\, bass guitar/vocals; Joseph\, keyboards/vocals; Roy\, percussion/vocals; and Regi\, guitars/vocals. \nSince they were young\, the five brothers have been a musical tour-de-force redefining the limits of jazz\, funk\, soul\, R&B\, rock\, and bluegrass. Sons of military parents\, their early years were spent living in different states including Hawaii\, California\, and Virginia where they shared stages with the likes of Curtis Mayfield\, The Temptations\, Ramsey Lewis\, Stephanie Mills\, War\, and other artists. In the mid 80’s\, the brothers released an album as The Wootens for Clive Davis’ Arista Records. This will be the brother’s first tour together as a band since the untimely death of their saxophone-playing brother Rudy a few years ago. \nVictor Wooten\, a five-time Grammy Award-winning artist\, has graced the cover of Bass Player Magazine five times. He is a founding member of the eclectic group Bela Fleck and the Flecktones and is recognized as one of the greatest living bassist today often drawing comparisons to Jaco Pastorius\, and was named one of the “Top ten bassist of all time” by Rolling Stone Magazine. He is also an award-nominated author\, naturalist\, and music educator and has been running his unique music/nature camps since the year 2000. Wooten’s camps are held at his own Wooten Woods\, which is just outside of Nashville. In 2010\, he started his own record label\, Vix Records\, which has released a series of acclaimed recordings over the last few years.
