Political Patch Block Printing

Join shop manager Ash (@ashbeadle) as she teaches you how to make your very own rubber stamp, with a twist! Design your image to stamp, but we’re making them political AND printing on fabric so you can wear them for election week!

This workshop is a beginners level block printing class where you’ll design your own stamp, carve it, and then practice printing it on paper and then fabric. This course will teach you how to use basic printmaking tools such as linoleum blocks, carving tools, brayers, and barens, and will focus on creating a one color image so that attendees can learn how to carve efficiently.

All materials and tools will be provided for you. Please come with a design in mind, or a small drawing to replicate on the block.* At the end of the workshop, attendees will be able to take their paper prints and block home, but any images printed on fabric can be picked up in Soy Much Brighter the following week.

* You do not need to be an “artist” to attend this class. Just someone who loves to learn and loves to create, whatever that may mean to you
