Workspace: Redefining the Office with Hospitality and Heart

When Justin Moran first stepped into the flexible office industry, he assumed it would feel like real estate. After all, Workspace provides offices, meeting rooms, and professional environments where people can get work done. But Justin quickly discovered the truth: “The flexible office industry operates much more like the hotel business than traditional real estate. Our role is to anticipate and provide every amenity our members need to work productively, feel supported, and thrive.”

That philosophy has become the cornerstone of Workspace, which now spans multiple locations across Massachusetts, including its Beverly office at the Cummings Center.

“In the early days, our focus was on providing professional, well-equipped offices,” Justin recalls. “But over time, we realized our members’ success depended on much more than just four walls and a desk—it was about the entire experience.”

Inspired by the hospitality industry, Workspace began adding thoughtful amenities, personal touches, and community programming that transformed the environment. Today, members can choose from private offices, coworking solutions, and even virtual office packages—all designed to fit the shifting needs of modern professionals.

Convenience and flexibility remain at the heart of the brand. Every Workspace location is available to all members, creating a network of welcoming, well-designed environments where professionals can connect, collaborate, and grow.

As Workspace expanded from one to five locations, Justin learned that success isn’t about copy-pasting a formula. Each community is different, and growth requires listening closely and responding to unique member needs. “What has consistently worked is investing heavily in targeted advertising,” he says. “People search for the amenities they need in similar ways, so staying consistent in messaging and visibility has been key.”

That consistency extends beyond marketing. Justin sees it as the secret to small business growth: showing up every day, delivering value, and building trust.

But he’s also candid about the challenges. The pandemic forced Workspace to reinvent itself almost overnight, while rapid expansion meant learning to delegate and trust his team. “In the early years, I tried to be everywhere and do everything, which led to burnout,” he admits. “Now, I prioritize balance—family dinners, cycling, and time to recharge. I show up better for my team and our members when I’m rested and living a full life outside of work.”

Workspace isn’t just about office space—it’s about connection. Members often form partnerships, land clients, or simply find camaraderie in a supportive environment. “There’s something incredibly satisfying about knowing the space you’ve built helps someone else succeed,” Justin says.

That community spirit extends beyond Workspace’s walls. The company partners with local businesses—often restaurants and cafés—to bring members new experiences while giving those partners valuable exposure. It also supports local nonprofits through donations, drives, and event sponsorships, from clothing drives for St. Francis House to fundraising auctions for schools and sports teams.

Workspace’s vision for the future is sustainable growth without losing its personal touch. As more professionals seek alternatives to commuting or working from home, Justin sees opportunity in expanding into new communities while maintaining the hospitality-driven culture that sets Workspace apart.

“Ultimately, our goal is to be more than a place to work,” he says. “We want to be a place to belong.”
